Paul Davis — SWCC Master Chief (Ret.), Naval Special Warfare Combat Developer

Paul Davis retired in 2019 after 31 years of active duty service as a Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC), achieving the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. His operational career encompassed surface maritime special operations and intelligence operations, including multiple combat deployments in direct support of Naval Special Warfare missions across multiple theaters.

Following retirement, Davis continued serving Naval Special Warfare as a government civilian combat developer, accumulating six years of experience across two major NSW commands. At Naval Special Warfare Group 8, he served as Director of TRIDENT SPECTRE, Naval Special Warfare's premier maritime experimentation event, overseeing large-scale multi-platform experimentation that directly informed acquisition decisions across the SOCOM Acquisition portfolios. At Naval Special Warfare Group 4, he served as the Combat Systems Integration Officer for all NSW combatant craft — responsible for the integration of weapons, communications, navigation, and sensor systems across the entire surface craft portfolio — and led combat development activities focused on unmanned systems and sensitive activities programs.

Davis founded WakePoint Tech to provide the defense industry with the operational context that most maritime technology programs lack — a dual perspective as both a former operator who employed combatant craft in combat conditions, and a combat developer who translated operational requirements into acquisition-ready documentation. That combination is rare, and it is directly applicable to any organization developing, testing, or seeking to field maritime systems for the Naval Special Warfare or broader SOCOM community.
